Creating handmade quilts is my gift from cancer. I began quilting during a long recovery following a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in 1998, and I haven't stopped. It is my way of expressing myself creatively and making something beautiful. I love every part of making handmade quilts, from creating an idea, choosing the colors and textiles, cutting out the pieces and sewing them together. And then there's the quilting itself. After a recurrence of breast cancer in 2003, I was unable to sew any handmade quilts for eight months while in treatment. When I was able to quilt again I noticed that my creativity had reached a new level. I've been quilting "outside the box", designing my own pieces in a more artistic venue. In between creating art quilts, I make handmade quilts for family and friends. My wish is that the art quilts I create turn into heirlooms, which will nurture you and your family, and bring you comfort.
Please view my art quilts by using the scroll bar below. My most recent handmade quilts contain recycled denim, a fiber familiar to us all. All of my handmade art quilts are for sale. Please contact me if you'd like to experience the comfort of myhandmade quilts!
